In Homecoming, an experimentation with materials guided a reflection on fragmented narratives derived from Latvia's art and architectural history as well as the artist’s autobiography.

From history, the artist references Daina Dagnija's Woman and Cow, Riga's Freedom Monument, and the Latvian National Museum of Art.

From personal narrative, she reflects on her return to Latvia—her country of birth—and her experience of seeing Dagnija's work in the museum, as well as the loss that caused her to leave Latvia 23 years prior.
Through painting, she juxtaposes symbols of freedom, nationhood, colonization, and grief.
